Day 1: Kathmandu Valley Arrival

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Trek Me Nepal will reach there to welcome you.

He/She will take you to your hotel.

You can take your time, rest at the hotel or roam around this bustling capital city.

There will be a pre-trek briefing in the evening, for which you should have passport-sized photos and copies of your travel insurance.

Day 2: Kathmandu Day Tour

Dip into the history of Nepal, tracing the Royal Palaces, ancient temples and stupas.

Explore the traditional architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Day 4: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

After breakfast, you will depart towards the renowned Lama Hotel.

Follow the Langtang Khola trail.

Then, trek through the dense lush forests and cross the suspension bridge over the roaring Langtang River.

Day 5: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley

Today’s trail goes uphill through the rich juniper, rhododendron and pine forests.

Day 6: Trek from Langtang Valley to Kanjin Gompa

Day 6 brings you to Kyanjin Gompa, the spiritual center of Langtang Valley.

The trek today will be easier compared to others.

You pass through small villages and icefalls along the way.

Kyanjin Gompa is a popular stop for Langtang trekking.

This village offers you a tranquil environment and panoramic views of the Langtang ranges.

You can take your time to explore the Buddhist monasteries and surrounding areas.

Come across monks who only pray and chant mantras in the monasteries.

You might want to join the rituals if you wish.

In the afternoon, you’ll be hiking to Kyanjin Ri, which is the lower viewpoint of the area.

Day 7: Hike to Tserko Ri (5,033 meters) and return to Kyanjin Gompa

It is the highlight of the Langtang Valley Trek.

Additionally it’s also an acclimatization day for your body to get used to increasing altitude.

Tserko Ri is the highest point of your Langtang trek that you will head towards.

To reach this point, you’ll hike through Kyanjin Ri towards higher altitudes.

It is quite a steep climb, but at the top, the panorama at high altitude is indeed rewarding.

Today is the last day of your Langtang trekking adventure.

After having your breakfast, you start descending towards Syabrubesi.

You will be going back through some familiar suspension bridges, forests and villages before reaching Syabrubesi.

Day 11: Departure from KTM

This day has mixed feelings, as on this day, you will be leaving Nepal and flying back to your country.

During the trek, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Kathmandu and will include a variety of cuisines, such as Nepalese, Tibetan, Indian, and continental. Welcome and farewell dinners will also be arranged for you.

In Kathmandu, we will provide you with 3-star hotel accommodations or similar. During the trek, twin-sharing rooms will be provided in tea houses, and single supplement rooms are available for an additional cost. Rooms with attached washrooms will be arranged, but shared facilities may be the only option in some areas.

BEST TIME TO TREK TO LANGTANG VALLEY

The best time for trekking to Langtang Valley falls in spring and autumn.

The ideal time for this trip lies between March and May and between September and November.

Both these seasons are appropriate for trekking because the scenery is breathtaking and the weather will be comfortable.

Spring (March to May):

This is the season when the temperatures are really mild and most importantly, skies are clear.

Rhododendrons bloom along the trail, adding colors to the paths.

During this season, daytime temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C. 

Autumn (September to November):

Autumn has stable weather, creating some remarkable mountain vistas.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL PREPARATIONS

  • Since Langtang Valley Trek is moderately difficult, you must be physically fit. Begin exercising to develop your stamina by cycling, swimming and running.
  • If possible, try to hike in the higher elevations to give you a notion of trekking before your real Langtang treks.
  • Train your legs, core and back. A strong body will help you cope with the physical challenge of the Langtang Valley Trek.
  • Have clear and realistic goals. There are days you will be walking 6 to 7 hours. So mentally prepare for long Langtang Valley trekking.

REQUIRED PERMITS

Langtang National Park Entry Permit

This permit is a must because you will go deep inside the Himalayan National Park.

It costs around 30$ for foreigners and 15$ for SAARC nationals.

TIMS Card

Abbreviated as the Trekker’s Information Management System, this card is mandatory for every trekker.

It keeps the safety and security of the trekkers.

In case of any emergency, the card will allow tracing you by the authorities.

There is a green and a blue TIMS card.

In case of individual trekking, you get a green TIMS card. 

And if you apply via a trekking agency, then it is the blue one. 

The blue TIMS card costs 10$, while a green one costs about 20$. 

You can get these cards and permits from the Tourism Board Nepal in Kathmandu.
