The 15-day Upper Mustang Trek with Drive Back is an exciting adventure that takes you through the remote and mystical region of Mustang, located in northern Nepal. The journey starts in Kathmandu, where you will spend two nights and explore the city’s rich cultural heritage. You will then fly to Pokhara, the gateway to the Himalayas, where you will spend two nights and prepare for your trek.
The trek itself will take you through the arid and barren landscapes of Mustang, dotted with ancient monasteries, chortens, and prayer flags. You will visit the holy site of Muktinath, the capital city of Lo-Manthang, and several other remote villages, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their unique culture and traditions.
The trek ends with a jeep ride from Ghami to Jomsom, followed by a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. From Pokhara, you will take a tourist deluxe bus back to Kathmandu. The trip concludes with a transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
Throughout the journey, you will stay in comfortable hotels and teahouses, and the trek will be led by experienced guides and porters who will ensure your safety and comfort at all times. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel.
If your arrival is in the evening, we will hold a guide briefing at the hotel. However, if you arrive during the day, we will have the briefing at our office.

Today, you will have a complete day to discover the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, including Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
In the afternoon, we will have a pre-trek briefing where you should bring 2 passport-size photos and travel insurance papers. Our guide will give you important information and answer any questions you may have about the trek.

Driving from Kathmandu to Pokhara is a scenic 6-7 hour journey on the Prithvi Highway, passing through picturesque landscapes and small towns. The drive ends in Pokhara, a popular tourist destination known for its lakes and mountain views.

You will take an early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom in 3rd day of trek. The flight will take around 25 minutes, and you will be able to see the breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. From Jomsom, you will begin your trek to Kagbeni. The trek will take around 3 hours, and you will cross the Kali Gandaki River on the way. You will spend the night in Kagbeni.

You will continue your trek to Muktinath, which is an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. You will climb uphill to reach Muktinath, which will take around 4-5 hours. Along the way, you will pass by the village of Jharkot, where you can visit the Jharkot Monastery. You will spend the night in Muktinath.

In day 6, you will leave Muktinath and continue your trek towards Chuasang. The trail will take you through the village of Lubra, where you can see traditional Mustangi houses. You will then cross the Kali Gandaki River and climb uphill to reach Chele. The trek will take around 7-8 hours, and you will spend the night in Chele.

After breakfast, you will continue your trek to Geling. The trail will take you through the village of Samar, where you can see the Annapurna and Nilgiri mountain ranges. You will then climb uphill to reach the village of Bhena, where you will have lunch. After lunch, you will continue your trek to Geling. The trek will take around 6 hours, and you will spend the night in Geling.

You will leave Gelling and continue your trek to Charang on day 7. The trail will take you through the village of Tama Gaon, where you can see the Tama Gompa. You will then climb uphill to reach Charang. The trek will take around 4-5 hours, and you will spend the night in Charang.

On day 9, we will leave Charang and continue your trek to Lo-Manthang, the capital of Mustang. The trail will take you through the village of Lo-Gekar, where you can visit the oldest monastery in Mustang. You will then climb uphill to reach Lo-Manthang. The trek will take around 5-6 hours, and you will spend the night in Lo-Manthang.

Today is a rest day, and you will have the opportunity to explore the ancient walled city of Lo-Manthang. You can visit the Royal Palace, the four major monasteries, and the local market. You can also take a day trip to Chhoser, where you can visit the Chhoser Cave and the Chhoser Monastery. You will spend the night in Lo-Manthang.
