The 15-day Upper Mustang Trek with Drive Back is an exciting adventure that takes you through the remote and mystical region of Mustang, located in northern Nepal. The journey starts in Kathmandu, where you will spend two nights and explore the city’s rich cultural heritage. You will then fly to Pokhara, the gateway to the Himalayas, where you will spend two nights and prepare for your trek.
The trek itself will take you through the arid and barren landscapes of Mustang, dotted with ancient monasteries, chortens, and prayer flags. You will visit the holy site of Muktinath, the capital city of Lo-Manthang, and several other remote villages, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their unique culture and traditions.
The trek ends with a jeep ride from Ghami to Jomsom, followed by a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. From Pokhara, you will take a tourist deluxe bus back to Kathmandu. The trip concludes with a transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
Throughout the journey, you will stay in comfortable hotels and teahouses, and the trek will be led by experienced guides and porters who will ensure your safety and comfort at all times. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative of our travel agency. Friendly officials will handle your customs and immigration process. Then, you will be taken to your hotel. You could explore Thamel. There are shops surrounding the Thamel area. You could even purchase the local SIM card. You could explore the nightlife of Thamel.
After your breakfast is over you will be taken to a city tour in Kathmandu. You will get the opportunity to explore the city of Kathmandu. You will be visiting the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Soyambunath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. You will first go to the Kathmandu Durbar Square. There you will be able to see the rich architecture of the Malla Dynasty, Kumari Ghar.
Then you will be able to go to the Monkey Temple. There you will be able to see the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley. Your tour ends by visiting Pashupatinath temple. Then you will be taken to your hotel room. Rest for a while. Then you will board a bus which will take you to Pokhara.
The drive to Marpha to Tatopani offers you various scenic views. Tatopani is known for its natural springs which offer a refreshing sensation. You will then continue your journey to Marpha village. The village is famous for its apples. Once you reach Marpha you will be able to see traditional stone houses. You could see shops selling handicrafts. The people are very welcoming. Then you will be offered tea and snacks in your respective room.
You will be able to see the ancient villages of Upper Mustang. You will be going through roads which are winding. You will be amazed looking at the landscapes, the valleys and the deserted cliffs of Kagbeni. You will be able to see their lifestyle and rich cultural heritage. Ghami is a village which has stone houses. You will be greeted with carved prayer wheels. You will be able to look at the snow capped mountains and various landscapes. You will be at a peaceful place.
Your journey starts after you have your breakfast. You will go through various terrain and pass ancient villages of upper Mustang. You will pass through various landscapes, high mountain passes and deep river valleys. You will see The Royal Palace which was built in the 14th century. You can visit the local monasteries which reflect the rich culture of their surroundings. Later you could rest in the guest house. The host family is very friendly.
Lo-Manthang is the ancient capital of Upper Mustang. You will be able to see the rich cultural history and the natural beauty. First you will visit the Royal Palace. You will discover the ancient mud-brick houses and traditional Tibetan-style architecture. You can take a hike as well to the surrounding hillsides. You will be able to discover the hidden caves and shrines. Enjoy traditional Mustangi cuisine, showcasing the region’s diverse influences. As the afternoon sun sets you will be able to see the beauty of the Mustang Valley.
Chhusang is a remote village of Upper Mustang. Your journey begins through the winding roads. You will pass through high mountain passes and you will be able to see the panoramic view of the Himalayas. Chhusang is located on the banks of Kali Gandaki River. You will see the traditional stone houses and prayer flags. The local people are very warm and welcoming towards their guests.
You will be able to see the rough landscapes and sacred sites of the Upper Mustang. You will be able to see snow-capped peaks, deep river gorges and giant mountains. Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. You will be able to see ancient monasteries.
You will pass through different types of rough terrain, rice fields, traditional villages, mountain passes and rocky mountains. Tatopani is famous for its natural hot springs. You could even take a deep dip in the pond. The hot spring water is considered therapeutic. You have the opportunity to explore the hidden treasures of the Upper Mustang.
You will be greeted by different landscapes which will be showing you the beauty of rural life in Pokhara. You will gradually see the changes in the road structure. You will travel through a valley which offers green lush landscapes and mountain peaks. You will see different tea house stalls which offer delicious local cuisine and beverages.
You will be greeted by Phewa Lake as you reach Pokhara. You will get the opportunity to explore different attractions of Pokhara like Peace Pagoda, Lakeside area and Begnas Lake. At the end of the tour you will be dropped off in the hotel where you can have a cozy sleep.
Today you return back to Kathmandu after your breakfast is over. You will be escorted to the Pokhara International Airport. After you land in Kathmandu you will be able to have free time to explore Kathmandu. You can go to different places like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Garden Of Dreams and Thamel. You can even explore the night life of Thamel. Later you could reflect on your tour for your good memory.
Today is your last day in Kathmandu. As you bid farewell to Nepal you are filled with excitement and sadness. As you go through the busy streets of Kathmandu, you reflect on your journey. You would like to savor every moment of your final hours in Nepal. As you board the plane, you reflect on your experiences, including trekking through the Himalayas and exploring ancient temples and markets.
