Welcome to your 18-day Everest Base Camp adventure! This carefully planned trek offers a perfect blend of breathtaking Himalayan scenery, cultural experiences, and gradual acclimatization.

Starting with a scenic drive to Phaplu, you'll avoid flights while enjoying beautiful rural landscapes before beginning your trek through traditional Sherpa villages.

Your journey follows classic trails through the Khumbu region, visiting highlights like Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, and Dingboche.

The itinerary includes essential acclimatization days to help your body adjust safely to the altitude. The trek culminates with visits to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, where you'll enjoy unforgettable views of the world's highest peaks.

After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey with a scenic 8-9 hours drive to Phaplu. Enjoy views of rural villages, rolling hills, and valleys along the way. The drive is long but rewarding, and we’ll settle into a cozy guesthouse in Phaplu for the night.

This traditional Sherpa town is the trek's starting point, and has basic lodges, a small bazaar, and the historic Thupten Choling Monastery (about 1.5-hour hike). Visitors can explore the local market, observe monastery ceremonies, or take short acclimatization walks to nearby villages, with initial views of Himalayan foothills.

Today’s 5-6 hour trek takes us downhill through green forests and across small streams. The peaceful trail leads to Nunthala, a quiet village where we’ll spend the night in a local guesthouse.

A quiet Sherpa village along the classic trail, Nunthala also has basic teahouse accommodations and stunning valley views. The main trail passes through terraced fields and crosses several streams via traditional wooden bridges.

Nearby, you can visit the local school or observe daily village life. The area is known for its apple orchards.

We’ll continue our trek on a rocky path, passing through small villages and wooded areas. By afternoon, we’ll arrive in Bupsa, where we’ll rest for the evening.

Bupsa has a peaceful atmosphere. The village offers clear mountain views and sits amidst terraced fields and pine forests.

Trekkers can observe local woodcarving traditions and visit the small monastery. The trail here becomes noticeably steeper as you approach the Khumbu region.

The day starts with a crossing over the Dudh Koshi River on a suspension bridge. We’ll climb to Khari Khela, then walk through thick forests filled with rhododendron trees before reaching Cheplung for the night.

This scenic village is the transition into the Khumbu region, with traditional stone houses and a small gompa. The trail passes through dense rhododendron forests before reaching the settlement.

Trekkers will notice the first prominent views of snow-capped peaks while crossing the Dudh Koshi river via suspension bridge. Basic lodges offer overnight stays with local hospitality.

Back in Namche, you can explore the Sherpa Culture Museum, browse local handicrafts, or relax with a cup of tea while enjoying the lively vibe of this mountain hub.

Leaving Namche, the trail descends to the Dudh Koshi River before climbing through peaceful rhododendron and pine forests. Tengboche awaits with its famous monastery, where the evening prayer ceremony fills the air with chanting and the scent of incense.

The views of Everest and Ama Dablam from here are unforgettable.

Today's journey continues upward through the beautiful Imja Valley. We'll cross small bridges over crystal-clear streams and pass through traditional stone-walled fields where local farmers grow barley and potatoes. 

Dingboche welcomes us with its peaceful atmosphere and stone houses nestled against the towering peaks. This is where we'll spend two nights to properly acclimatize.

Attractions at Dingboche:

  • Use Dingboche as a vital acclimatization stop at 4,410 m to help prevent altitude sickness.
  • Hike short acclimatization trails higher in the day and return to sleep lower in the village.
  • Visit the serene Dingboche Monastery and observe morning prayer rituals.
  • Take the Imja River walk past mani‑walls and prayer flags for stunning mountain views.
  • Trek to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 m) for a rewarding 360° panorama of Everest, Lhotse, Island Peak, Makalu.

This important rest day includes a short but rewarding hike up to Nangkartshang Peak (5,080m). The steady climb helps our bodies adjust while offering 360-degree views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, as well as the Imja Valley.

We'll return to Dingboche by lunchtime, giving you the afternoon to explore the village. Back at Dingboche, you might visit the local bakery, watch yaks grazing in nearby fields, or simply relax with a book while enjoying views of the surrounding peaks.

Remember to drink plenty of water and take it easy, this day is crucial for preparing your body for the higher altitudes ahead.

After lunch, we trek higher into the alpine landscape and make our way to Lobuche. The trail winds through rocky moraines left by ancient glaciers, with the mighty Khumbu Glacier coming into view.

You'll notice the air getting thinner as we gain altitude, but the incredible mountain views keep spirits high. Lobuche is a small cluster of teahouses nestled among towering peaks, a peaceful place to rest after today's walk.

End the day at a comfortable lodge with a big meal and good rest.

Things to do at Lobuche:

  • Visit the Italian Pyramid Laboratory-Observatory, a high-altitude research station studying climate and glaciers.
  • Stop by the World’s Highest Bakery Café for fresh bread, pastries, and hot drinks at 4,940 meters.
  • Capture stunning astrophotography shots of the Milky Way in the clear, high-altitude night skies.
  • Pay respects at the moving memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest.

This day brings us to the highlight of your trek as we walk to Everest Base Camp. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier, with breathtaking mountain views accompanying us all the way. We get to the village of Gorakshep first, we will reach there late morning and rest for a bit.

Then, we continue to Everest Base Camp. When we reach Base Camp, you can take in the incredible surroundings and celebrate this achievement and everything you did to get up here: the grit, passion and sheer will that got you here.

After this memorable experience, we'll return to Gorak Shep for a well-earned rest, carrying with us the pride of having reached this legendary destination.

We wake before dawn for the climb to Kala Patthar, where we'll be rewarded with the best views of Everest as the sun rises.

The hike is challenging but worth every step, the panoramic view of Everest, Nuptse and other giants glowing in morning light is breathtaking. 

After enjoying this special moment, we'll descend through the valley to Pheriche where we can rest at a lower altitude.

On day eleven, we begin our return journey, trekking back through the beautiful Khumbu Valley to Namche Bazaar. As we descend, you'll notice how much stronger you've become since first passing this way.

The familiar trails now feel more comfortable, allowing you to fully appreciate the charming villages and mountain views along the route.

The trail gradually leads us back to where our adventure began, arriving in Lukla where we'll spend our last night. This comfortable stay is the perfect ending to your Himalayan trekking experience.

This day, we journey back from the mountains. We'll take an early morning flight from Lukla, offering you one last breathtaking view of the Himalayas from above. 

Depending on weather conditions and seasonal airport operations, this may be a direct flight to Kathmandu or a flight to Manthali (Ramechhap) followed by a 4-5 hour scenic drive back to the capital. 

Upon arrival, our team will transfer you to your hotel where you can enjoy the comforts of hot showers, soft beds, and some well-deserved relaxation after your trekking adventure.

Your final full day in Nepal is free for you to enjoy as you wish. You might choose to explore Kathmandu's markets for last-minute souvenirs, visit nearby cultural heritage sites, or simply relax at your hotel. 

In the evening, we'll host a special farewell dinner at one of Kathmandu's best restaurants. This is a wonderful opportunity to share trekking stories with your guide and fellow travelers while enjoying delicious Nepali cuisine.

For those interested in extending their stay, we can provide information about popular extensions to Pokhara, Chitwan National Park, or cultural tours within the Kathmandu Valley.

On your final day, our representative will ensure a smooth transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport according to your flight schedule. We'll assist with luggage and check-in procedures to make your departure as comfortable as possible.
