Welcome to an unforgettable adventure in the heart of the Himalayas! This 20-day journey combines trekking to Everest Base Camp, exploring the stunning Gokyo Lakes, and summiting Island Peak (6,189m) for a truly immersive experience in Nepal’s Khumbu region.

Your adventure begins in Kathmandu, where our team will welcome you and prepare you for the trek ahead. A scenic flight takes you to Lukla, where your Himalayan journey truly begins.

Over the following days, you’ll trek through charming Sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar, Phakding, and Dingboche, acclimatizing gradually while soaking in breathtaking mountain views.

The route leads you to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, where you’ll hike up Gokyo Ri (5,357m) for panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks. Crossing the challenging Cho La Pass (5,420m), you’ll then make your way to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, iconic destinations offering close-up views of the world’s highest mountain.

The highlight of your trip is the ascent of Island Peak, where you’ll receive professional ice-climbing training before summiting this rewarding 6,000-meter peak. After celebrating your achievement, you’ll trek back to Lukla, then fly to Kathmandu for a day of cultural exploration before departing.

This trek is designed for adventurers with good fitness and some trekking experience. Our experienced guides and support team will ensure your safety and comfort throughout the journey, from cozy teahouses to high-altitude tented camps.

Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our friendly staff will greet you and take you to your hotel. Once you rest and freshen up, we will brief you about the trek you will start the next day. 

We will give you a rundown of essential documents and all gears you will need throughout. You can spend the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the city or relaxing at your hotel. We end the day with a hearty dinner of Nepali cuisine.

Your trip begins early next morning with a 45-minute flight to Lukla. On flight you will get your first breathtaking views of the Himalayas from above. You get to Lukla's small mountain airstrip soon.

After some tea and snacks, during which you can take a closer look at the tower peaks surrounding you, we begin our four-hour trek down to Phakding

This first walk will help you adjust to trekking in the mountains. You'll pass through small settlements and enjoy the fresh mountain air as we make our way to the charming village by the river.

Here, you'll settle into the comfortable lodge, where you can relax and prepare for the days ahead.

Today’s trek takes you to Namche Bazaar, the lively heart of the Everest region. The trail follows the Dudh Kosi River, with more suspension bridges and beautiful forested paths.

You’ll pass through small villages, getting your first glimpses of local Sherpa life before reaching Namche, where you’ll spend the night.

Today is an important day to rest and let your body adjust to the altitude. After breakfast, we'll take a hike up to the Hotel Everest View, where you'll be rewarded with a panorama of the Himalayan peaks, including Mount Everest.

The walk is short but rewarding, giving you just enough activity to help with acclimatization while enjoying spectacular views. Along the way, we may stop at the Visitors Park to learn more about the region's unique ecosystem. We will also hike to the Syanboche Airport (one of the highest airport in Nepal).

You'll have the afternoon free to explore Namche Bazaar at your own pace, perhaps visit the local market, try some local food and buy souvenirs or simply relax at the comfortable lodge.

On day 5, we will leave Namche Bazaar and trek to Dole, a small village situated on a hillside with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

We will pass through several small settlements and enjoy the tranquil scenery of the Everest region and reach there in about 6-7 hours.

The day’s trek, although not too long (approx. 3 to 5 hours), it is a steeper unhill climb which takes us to the peaceful village of Machhermo, nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by towering peaks. 

As the trail climbs, it gives us plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent mountain views along the way. We'll pass through alpine meadows and cross small streams, with the fresh mountain air accompanying us throughout the journey.

Machhermo welcomes us charmingly, and we'll spend the night in a cozy lodge, resting for tomorrow's adventure.

Machhermo is notable for its glacial river and the site of a famous 1974 yeti encounter. The village offers the first clear views of Cho Oyu's massive west face.

After breakfast, we will trek towards the Gokyo Lakes, a series of six glacial lakes located in the Gokyo Valley, which are among the world's highest freshwater systems.

The lakes are known for their stunning turquoise color and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Formed by glacial meltwater from the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal, the lakes are known for their striking turquoise and emerald colors, which vary with seasons and light conditions.

Designated as both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Ramsar wetland, the Gokyo Lakes are recognized for their ecological importance.

We will wake up early and hike up to Gokyo Ri (5,357m), one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region, for sunrise views. The climb is rewarding, with increasingly spectacular panoramic views with every step. 

From the summit, you'll be treated to an unforgettable vista of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and the entire Gokyo Lakes system below. After taking in these magnificent sights, we'll descend back to Gokyo where you can relax and reflect on today's achievements in the comfort of our lodge.

The remainder of the day is yours to rest and enjoy the serene mountain surroundings.

Today, we’ll cross Cho La Pass, which is another a challenging but rewarding part of the trek. The trail includes steep sections with rocky terrain, so we’ll take it steady. As we make our way up and over the pass, we’ll be treated to incredible views of the surrounding peaks.

After crossing, we’ll descend to Dzongla, a peaceful village nestled at the base of Lobuche Peak, where we’ll rest for the night.

After breakfast, we'll continue our journey upward toward Lobuche. The trail offers increasingly dramatic mountain views as we gain altitude.

You'll notice the landscape becoming more rugged and alpine as we approach this small settlement at 4,940 meters. End the day at a comfortable lodge with a big meal and good rest.

Things to do at Lobuche:

  • Visit the Italian Pyramid Laboratory-Observatory, a high-altitude research station studying climate and glaciers.
  • Stop by the World’s Highest Bakery Café for fresh bread, pastries, and hot drinks at 4,940 meters.
  • Capture stunning astrophotography shots of the Milky Way in the clear, high-altitude night skies.
  • Pay respects at the moving memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest.

This day brings one of the most rewarding moments of your trek as we walk to Everest Base Camp. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier, with breathtaking mountain views accompanying us all the way. We get to the village of Gorak Shep first, we will reach there late morning and rest for a bit.

Then, we continue to Everest Base Camp. When we reach Base Camp, you can take in the incredible surroundings and celebrate this achievement and everything you did to get up here: the grit, passion and sheer will that got you here.

After this memorable experience, we'll return to Gorak Shep for a well-earned rest, carrying with us the pride of having reached this legendary destination.

We begin early to hike up Kala Patthar in time for sunrise. As morning breaks, the first sunlight touches Mount Everest's peak and gradually reveals the surrounding mountains.

You'll see the Khumbu Glacier and nearby peaks like Nuptse and Lhotse become visible in the growing light. Prayer flags flutter in the breeze as the valley slowly brightens around you.

Then we move down to Dingboche, which sits in a beautiful high valley where farmers grow barley and potatoes, you'll notice the landscape becoming more rugged as we gain altitude. Our comfortable lodge here provides a warm welcome after the day’s walk.

Things to do at Dingboche:

  • Visit the peaceful Dingboche Monastery to see morning prayers and thangka paintings.
  • Catch spectacular sunrise views of Ama Dablam from the eastern ridge.
  • Take an easy 1-2 hour walk along the Imja River to see mani stones and glacial waters.
  • Learn about the unique ‘Ding’ ritual where villagers temporarily relocate each July-August.
  • Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) for 360° views of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu.
  • Observe traditional high-altitude farming of potatoes and barley on terraced fields.

On this day, we begin our return journey, trekking back through the beautiful Khumbu Valley to Namche Bazaar. As we descend, you'll notice how much stronger you've become since first passing this way.

The familiar trails now feel more comfortable, allowing you to fully appreciate the charming villages and mountain views along the route. Our comfortable stay at in Namche welcomes you back to this bustling Sherpa town.

We'll take an early morning flight from Lukla, offering you one last breathtaking view of the Himalayas from above. After landing in Kathmandu, we will take you to your comfortable hotel room in the capital city of Nepal.

The rest of the day is yours to relax, enjoy the city's vibrant atmosphere, or perhaps do some shopping for souvenirs.

  • Visit Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), where you can climb the steps to enjoy panoramic views of Kathmandu and observe the playful monkeys that live around the ancient stupa.
  • Explore Pashupatinath Temple, one of Nepal's most sacred Hindu sites, where you can witness traditional rituals along the banks of the Bagmati River.
  • Walk around Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, where locals and monks circle the dome with prayer wheels and chant mantras.
  • Wander through Kathmandu Durbar Square to admire the historic palaces, temples, and intricate woodcarvings that showcase Newari architecture.
  • Stroll through Thamel, Kathmandu's vibrant tourist hub, filled with shops selling trekking gear, handicrafts, and souvenirs, along with cozy cafes and restaurants.
  • Discover Patan Durbar Square, another UNESCO site known for its beautiful courtyards, golden temples, and skilled metalworkers crafting traditional statues.
  • Explore the local markets like Asan Bazaar, where you can experience the lively atmosphere and shop for spices, textiles, and everyday Nepali goods.
  • Stop by the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, the former royal palace, to learn about Nepal's monarchy and see historical artifacts.
  • Take a short trip to Bhaktapur, a well-preserved medieval city with stunning temples, pottery squares, and famous yogurt ‘Ju Ju Dhau.’
