Your adventure begins in Pokhara, the picturesque lakeside city and the gateway to the Annapurna region. From Pokhara, enjoy a scenic 1-hour drive to Birethanti, passing through small villages, terraced fields, and rivers that introduce you to rural Nepali life.
At Birethanti, the trek officially starts as you follow well-marked trails through dense forests, small villages (Hile, Tikhedunga) cascading waterfalls, and suspension bridges over rushing rivers. The trek on this day is moderate and allows you to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Annapurna foothills.
You will reach Ulleri, a charming village perched on a hillside, known for its terraced fields and traditional stone houses. The first major settlement, known for the long, steep stone staircase leading up to Ulleri. This section is one of the more strenuous climbs of the entire trek.
Here, you will enjoy the panoramic views of surrounding Mount Fishtail, Annapurna South, Himchuli. Stay overnight in a comfortable tea house, enjoying warm local hospitality and traditional Nepalese meals, and prepare for the climb to Ghorepani the next day.

After breakfast, begin your ascent from Ulleri through dense rhododendron and oak, pine, bamboo, rhododendron forests, famous for their vibrant blooms in spring. The trail climbs steadily, offering panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, making this a photographer’s paradise. Along the way, interact with local villagers and experience the warm hospitality of mountain communities.
You will reach Ghorepani, a scenic village at the edge of a ridge, known for its amazing sunrise & sunset views over the mountains. Ghorepani is also home to charming tea houses and lodges, where trekkers can relax and enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine after a rewarding day on the trail. Prepare for an early start the next day to witness the legendary sunrise at Poon Hill.

Rise early for the iconic Poon Hill sunrise trek, just 45min -1hour minutes from Ghorepani. From this vantage point, witness a breathtaking Himalayan panorama, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Nilgiri peaks. The golden sunrise over snow-capped mountains is an unforgettable experience, perfect for photography and nature lovers.
After descending back to Ghorepani for breakfast, continue trekking through dense forests, and small villages like Deurali, Banthanthi,etc. to reach Tadapani, a tranquil village surrounded by rhododendron and oak trees. Tadapani offers peaceful surroundings and spectacular mountain views, making it an ideal spot to relax and rejuvenate. Overnight in a tea house, enjoying the serenity of the Annapurna foothills and the hospitality of local hosts.

Begin your final day trekking through the cultural heart of the Annapurna region, passing through the beautiful village of Ghandruk, known for its traditional Gurung culture, architecture, and handicrafts.
Take in the stunning views of Annapurna South, Himchuli, and Machhapuchhre as you walk along scenic trails lined with terraced fields and dense rain forests.
Continue descending to Syauli Bazaar, the last village of the trek, where you witness local lifestyles, agriculture, and small-scale handicraft production. From here, enjoy a scenic drive back to Pokhara, concluding your Annapurna Poon Hill Trek with memories of majestic mountains, serene villages, and rich cultural experiences.
