Trek Me Nepal has created this ultimate adventure program involving a challenging climb to Lobuche Peak, combined with a visit to Everest Base Camp. This journey is not for the faint of heart, but for those who seek the thrill of ascending one of the most iconic peaks of Nepal. Prepare to be thrilled and amazed as you explore the beautiful Khumbu region, home to Mount Everest and a myriad of stunning experiences one after the other.
This epic journey begins with an exciting flight to Lukla, gateway to the Everest region. As you step off the plane and out into the tarmac, you’ll feel the surreality of being this close to Everest! But it’s just getting started. You begin gently, trekking through the winding forests and lush vegetation. Sherpa villages that you’ve seen in pictures and videos will come to life as you make your gradual ascend. The charm creeps in, but do not be fooled – the challenges that wait for you ahead will test your core inside and out, but will leave you with a beautiful reward and the promise of an unforgettable experience.
As you climb upwards, the landscape transforms dramatically, with towering peaks emerging on the horizon. Up on what seems like the zenith, their snow-capped summits appear as if they are piercing the sky; while down below, you’ll be crossing dizzying suspension bridges above deep deep gorges. You will pass through iconic places like Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Sherpa, and the picturesque Tengboche Monastery, where you can spend some time soaking in the atmosphere and praising panoramic vistas.
The test of your physical and mental limits has already begun as you climb higher. The thin air makes each breath more precious, while you’ll be pushing through fatigue and altitude challenges. One step at a time. That’s the key to this trek. The test is difficult, however, the reward for your perseverance is beyond measure. Standing at Everest Base Camp, you’ll be overwhelmed by a sense of accomplishment at the top of the world. It seems like you’ve done it, yet, your adventure is far from over!
The culmination of this trip is the ascent of Lobuche Peak, a difficult challenge that will push your limits. Standing tall at 6,119 metres (20,075 feet), ascending Lobuche East demands respect and absolute preparation. This is exactly where your journey changes from trekking-mode and enters the realm of mountaineering. Albeit an introductory one, climbing Lobuche Peak is a testament to your determination and preparation. Unlike Island Peak, climbing Lobuche requires a far greater degree of technical skills and usage of proper equipment. You’ll have to learn the use of crampons, ice picks, and ropes — as they become your most-trusted companions. Your life will depend on these gears as you’ll navigate icy slopes and exposed ridges before reaching the summit.
A test of your willpower and endurance will have been made — but the payoff will be immeasurable. The fuel of inspiration that you will gain from this ascent will last you a lifetime. Standing in solitude, you will immerse in a 360º panorama of the Himalayas. The experience will leave you speechless – with indelible memories of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and countless other peaks spread out before you in a sea of snow.
The trek will introduce you to the way of the Sherpa people — and staying in teahouses, you’ll gain a deep appreciation for the people who call these mountains home. As you descend back to Lukla, your body will be tired but your spirit will be at an all-time high carrying with you the memories of starlit nights in the heart of the giant mountains. The bondage forged with fellow trekkers and the deep sense of achievement will prove that this program from Trek Me Nepal is not just a trek – it’s a life-changing expedition.
