This carefully crafted trek takes you beyond the classic trails, guiding you to the stunning Gokyo Lakes, across the breathtaking Renjo La Pass, and through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Himalayas.
Your adventure begins in Kathmandu, where our team will welcome you and prepare you for the trek ahead. A scenic flight to Lukla brings you to the Khumbu region, where you’ll start walking through charming Sherpa villages, past prayer-flag-draped bridges, and alongside rushing rivers.
As you climb higher, the air grows crisper, and the views become more spectacular. Namche Bazaar, the lively gateway to the Everest region, offers your first clear sight of the towering peaks. A well-paced acclimatization day helps your body adjust while rewarding you with breathtaking views from Hotel Everest View.
The trail then leads you through peaceful rhododendron forests and alpine meadows toward the jewel-like Gokyo Lakes. These shimmering turquoise waters, set against a backdrop of snow-capped giants, create a scene of pure serenity.
A sunrise hike up Gokyo Ri rewards you with one of the finest panoramic views in the Himalayas: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu standing tall above the valleys.
Crossing the high-altitude Renjo La Pass is a highlight, offering sweeping vistas of the Everest range and the sprawling Ngozumpa Glacier below. From there, the descent takes you through quiet valleys and back to Namche, where you can reflect on your journey.
When you get back to Kathmandu with a flight from Lukla, you’ll have time to explore the city’s ancient temples and bustling markets before bidding farewell to Nepal, carrying memories of majestic peaks, glacial lakes and vibrant cities and villages.
This trek is a chance to disconnect, breathe in the crisp Himalayan air, and witness some awe-inspiring landscapes.
The recently opened Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La Pass trek provides an exciting option for high-pass trekking in Khumbu. The ideal time to embark on this journey is towards the end of the monsoon season.
Our representative will meet you at the airport when you arrive in Kathmandu and drive you to your hotel. The rest of the day can be used for relaxation or city exploration.
If your arrival is in the evening, we will hold a guide briefing at the hotel. However, if you arrive during the day, we will have the briefing at our office. The guide briefing will give you an overview of the trek and answer any questions you may have.
Your journey starts early the next morning with a 45-minute flight to Lukla. During the flight, you’ll catch your first stunning glimpses of the Himalayas from above. Soon, you’ll land at Lukla’s small mountain airport.
After enjoying some tea and snacks, and taking in the towering peaks around you, we’ll begin our roughly four-hour trek down to Phakding.
This first hike will help you get used to walking in the mountains. Along the way, you’ll pass through small villages and breathe in the fresh mountain air as we head toward the peaceful riverside village.
There, you’ll check into the cozy Yeti Mountain Home, where you can unwind and get ready for the adventures ahead.
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off toward Namche Bazaar, the vibrant center of the Khumbu region. The trek takes about seven hours, leading you through picturesque villages and green forests, with plenty of chances to admire the mountain views along the way.
One of the day’s highlights is crossing the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. The steady uphill walk brings us to Namche, where you’ll experience the bustling energy of this well-known trading hub.
You’ll spend the night at Yeti Mountain Home, where you can unwind and enjoy your first clear glimpses of the towering Himalayas.
This is crucial for resting and letting your body adapt to the altitude. Following breakfast, we'll make our way up to Hotel Everest View, where you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayan range, with Mount Everest taking center stage.
This short but fulfilling hike provides just the right amount of activity to aid your acclimatization while offering magnificent scenery. We might pause at the Visitors Park along the way to discover more about the area's special environment.
The afternoon is yours to spend as you wish in Namche Bazaar, you could browse the local market, sample some regional dishes, pick up souvenirs, or simply unwind back at the cozy Yeti Mountain Home.
After breakfast, we will begin our trek towards Dole. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan landscape and passes through rhododendron forests, small villages, and yak pastures. We will stop at Mong-La for lunch before continuing on to Dole.
On this day, we will trek to Machhermo, a charming village nestled at the foothills of a scenic valley. The trail gradually ascends, allowing us to enjoy breathtaking views of the nearby mountains. We will spend the night in Machhermo.
After breakfast, we will trek towards the Gokyo Lakes, a series of six glacial lakes located in the Gokyo Valley. The lakes are known for their stunning turquoise color and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Today we will hike up to Gokyo Ri, a small peak that offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. We will start early in the morning to catch the sunrise and spend some time taking in the views before descending back to Gokyo.
After breakfast, we’ll set out on our journey to Lunden. The Renjo La Pass, which provides breathtaking views of the neighboring peaks, will be crossed by us. Then, as we approach Lunden, a small settlement in a valley, we will start to descend.
After breakfast, we’ll begin our trek toward Namche Bazaar. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas while passing through a number of small villages. Afternoon arrival at Namche Bazaar, where we will stay the night.
We will start our trek toward Lukla after breakfast. The trail descends precipitously while traversing a number of settlements and forests. Afternoon arrival at Lukla, where we will stay the night.
We will take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu or Manthali (Ramechhap) and transfer to our hotel. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing or exploring the city.
Today is a Sightseeing day, and you can spend it as per your preference. You will have a complete day to discover the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, including Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
If you desire to prolong your stay in Nepal, we provide well-known trips to Pokhara, Chitwan National Park, and other cultural heritage tours. Furthermore, we offer outbound tours to Tibet, India, and Bhutan. Lastly, you will relish a farewell dinner at a fancy restaurant to conclude your journey.
Our representative will transfer you to the airport as per your flight schedule, and you will fly back home with beautiful memories of your Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La Pass trek.
