The Ghorepani-Poon Hill trek is a popular and picturesque trekking route in Nepal’s Annapurna region, taking 10 days to complete. Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

You will be welcomed by our team representative upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. You will then be transferred to your hotel.

We will hold a briefing at the hotel if your arrival is in the evening. However, we will have the briefing of the trip at our office if you arrive during the day. Your questions will be answered by the guide. You will have an overview idea regarding the trek

Day 2
Kathmandu Sightseeing

Today, you will have a completely free day to explore various UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple.

Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, each showcasing the region’s rich cultural, historical, and architectural heritage. These sites include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, is a sacred site for both Buddhists and Hindus. Boudhanath Stupa, one of Nepal’s largest and most significant centers of Tibetan Buddhism, is a significant center of Tibetan Buddhism. Changunarayan Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples in Nepal, is renowned for its stone inscriptions, sculptures, and pagoda-style architecture.

 

Day 3
Kathmandu to Pokhara

After you are done with the breakfast, you will be transported to Pokhara. You will pass various scenic beauties on the way to Pokhara. You will have the opportunity to view snow – capped mountains like Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Manaslu. You will pass by various lush hills, terraced fields, and traditional villages along the way.

Traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara in Nepal can be done via bus, private car, or domestic flight. Buses are common and affordable, taking 6-8 hours depending on road conditions. Private cars or taxis are more convenient but expensive, taking 6-7 hours. Domestic flights offer aerial views of the Himalayas and are available daily from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. However, schedules are subject to weather conditions, especially during the monsoon season. When planning your journey, consider factors like budget, comfort, time constraints, and personal preferences.

Drive to Nayapul(1hrs) and trek to Tikhedhunga

After having breakfast you will head to Nayapul. You will enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayan mountains, terraced fields, and traditional Nepali villages. You could take pictures from your camera, keep your camera handy.

The journey from Pokhara to Nayapul is a popular trekking route in Nepal, leading to Ghorepani and Poon Hill. The journey takes approximately 42 kilometers and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. The journey offers stunning views of Himalayan mountains, terraced fields, and traditional Nepali villages. Nayapul is a small town with basic amenities, and is the starting point for many trekkers heading to other destinations. The trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga is 9 kilometers long and takes 4 to 5 hours. The trail is moderately challenging, suitable for all levels. Accommodations in Tikhedhunga include teahouses and guesthouses. The altitude of Tikhedhunga is approximately 1,540 meters, providing a comfortable acclimatization before continuing the trek.

Trek to Ghorepani

Today we are trekking to Ghorepani and passing through Banthanti and Ulleri. You will get to view Fist Tail (6997m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Annapurna Range (7219m). We will pass through rhododendron trees.

Today after finishing breakfast we will hike to Poon Hill (3232M). We will pass many snow capped mountains. We will enjoy the sunrise over  Mt. Nilgiri (6940m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7855m), Annapurna IV (7525m). After hiking down to Ghorepani we will have breakfast at the lodge.

We are descending to Ghandruk today. We will pass traditional Gurung houses and lush greenery.  We will see the rural life of the Himalayas. We will see the stunning views of the Annapurna and Machapuchare mountain.

Trek to Nayapul

Today is our last day of trekking. We will cross through the rice field, local villages, and Syauli bazaar. Then we will reach Nayapul. The Ghandruk to Nayapul trek is a popular route in Nepal. The trail passes through several villages. Accommodations and services are available in local tea houses and lodges but we won’t be staying in Ghandruk. We will be descending to Nayapul on the same day and spend our night  at Nayapul. We will be resuming our journey  to Pokhara the very next day.

Trekking from Ghandruk to Nayapul is a scenic route in Nepal’s Annapurna region, offering stunning mountain views, lush forests, and traditional villages. The trail starts from Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village at an altitude of 1,940 meters. It descends to Kimche, where panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys are enjoyed. The trail continues to Syauli Bazaar, a small settlement, and Birethanti, a larger village at the confluence of the Modi Khola and Burungdi Khola rivers. The trail ends at Nayapul, a small town and transportation hub at an altitude of 1,070 meters. Transportation options include hiring a jeep or taxi, exploring nearby villages, or continuing on to other destinations.

Day 9
Drive to Pokhara

The journey from Nayapul to Pokhara involves a reversed route, starting from Nayapul in Nepal’s Annapurna region. The journey takes 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The road is mostly paved, but some sections may be rough or under construction. Pokhara, a popular tourist destination in western Nepal, is known for its natural beauty, including Phewa Lake, Sarangkot, and the Annapurna mountain range. After trekking, visitors can explore the city and relax before continuing their journey. It’s essential to check road conditions and weather forecasts before embarking on the journey.
