The Langtang Valley Trek is a 11-day adventure in the Langtang region of Nepal. The trek starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the trek. From there, you will trek to Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, and Kyanjin Gompa, where you will have a day to explore the surrounding area. The trek back follows the same route, and you will end your journey with a drive back to Kathmandu.

Throughout the trek, you will stay at teahouses, where you will be provided with meals and comfortable place to rest. The trek is moderate in difficulty and requires a good level of fitness and acclimatization.

The package includes two nights’ accommodation in Kathmandu, local bus transfers to Syabrubesi and back, teahouse accommodation with meals. In addition an experienced English-speaking trekking guide, porter service, TIMS permit, and Langtang National Park permit.

The package excludes international airfare and Nepal visa fees, travel and medical insurance, meals and drinks not mentioned in the itinerary. Moreover personal expenses, and any other expenses not mentioned in the itinerary.

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel.

We will have a pre-trek briefing on this day where you should bring 2 passport size photos and travel insurance papers. Our guide will give you important information and answer any questions you may have about the trek.

Full day guided Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Today, You will have a complete day to discover the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, including Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

By Local Bus drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

We will take an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a small town located in the Langtang region. The road journey takes about 7-8 hours, which includes a scenic drive through the lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional settlements.

Day 4
Trek to Lama Hotel

We will begin our trek after breakfast and follow the Langtang Khola river gorge, crossing several suspension bridges and dense forests. We will pass by the small Tamang villages and reach the Lama Hotel, which is surrounded by lush green forests.

Trek to Langtang Village

Trek Duration 6-7hrs

On the 5th day’s trail goes through the Langtang river valley, and we will climb through the dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. We will have a spectacular view of Langtang Lirung (7,234 m) and other snow-capped peaks. After a few hours of trekking, we will reach the Langtang village, which is a traditional Tibetan-style settlement.

Day 6
Trek to Kyanjin Gompa
Highest Altitude 3,860m
Trek Duration 3-4hrs

We will have a shorter trek today and gradually ascend towards the Kyanjin Gompa, which is the main highlight of the trek. We will pass by the mani walls, chortens, and small streams along the way. Upon reaching Kyanjin Gompa, we will explore the ancient Buddhist monastery and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 7
Hike to Tserko Ri(5,033m) and return to Kyanjin Gompa
Highest Altitude 3,860m
Trek Duration 6-7hrs

Day 7 is a rest day, and we will explore the beautiful valley and the surrounding peaks. We can hike up to the Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri, which at 5033m is the highest point of the trek for the panoramic view of the Langtang range, including Langtang Lirung, Gangchempo, and Langshisa Ri. We will also visit the Yak Cheese factory, where we can see the traditional process of cheese making.

Day 8
Trek back to Lama Hotel

Trek Duration 6hrs

After breakfast, we will trek back through the same trail, passing by the Langtang village and dense forests of rhododendron and oak. We will have lunch on the way and continue our trek to reach the Lama Hotel, where we will stay overnight.

Day 9
Trek back to Syabrubesi

Trek Duration 6hrs

We will trek back to Syabrubesi on day 9, and the trail is mostly downhill, passing through the dense forests and small Tamang villages. We will have a hot lunch at Bamboo and continue our trek to reach Syabrubesi, where we will stay overnight.

Drive back to Kathmandu & Farewell Dinner

After breakfast, we will take a local bus and drive back to Kathmandu, which takes about 7-8 hours. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, and the rest of the day is free for leisure or shopping.

During the trek, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. Breakfast will be served at the hotel in Kathmandu and will include a variety of cuisines, such as Nepalese, Tibetan, Indian, and continental. Welcome and farewell dinners will also be arranged for you.

Accommodation

In Kathmandu, we will provide you with 3-star hotel accommodations or similar. During the trek, twin-sharing rooms will be provided in tea houses, and single supplement rooms are available for an additional cost. Rooms with attached washrooms will be arranged, but shared facilities may be the only option in some areas.
