We take our flight from the world famous little Tenzing Hillary Airport. One can debate if the landing or the take off is more exiting. But surely a great opportunity again to admire The Himalayas!
Returning to Kathmandu, we enjoy the comfort of our hotel again.
Finally, on day 15, our journey in Nepal will come to an end as we transfer to the airport for our departure flight. We will say our goodbyes and take with us memories of a lifetime from our unforgettable Everest Base Camp trek.
The Everest Base Camp trek is considered moderate to demanding, and does not require any technical mountaineering skills. Essentially, it is a long hike to an altitude of 5,364 meters or 17,599 feet. The difficulty of the trek is primarily due to its 12-day duration, which involves hiking up and down hills across various terrains. This duration includes both the arrival and departure days, making it a 14-day trip in total.
The ideal time to embark on the Everest Base Camp trek is during the spring months of March through May, or during the fall months of October through November. These seasons provide favorable weather conditions and are perfect for high-altitude climbing. During these times, the sky is clear and the mountain views are stunning. While it is possible to undertake the trek in February or early September, it is generally recommended to do so during the aforementioned months for the best experience.
There is no specific age limit for trekking to Everest Base Camp, but it is important to be in good physical condition and maintain a positive attitude. It is highly recommended to consult with a doctor prior to embarking on the trek, in order to obtain necessary permission, advice, and medications for traveling at high altitudes.
